Menopause
Are you ready to take control of your menopause?
Menopause is a regular event in a woman’s life span due to ageing.
Every woman will go through it at some stage because her ovaries stop producing eggs, and as a result, the levels of your hormones called oestrogen and progesterone fall.
The average age of menopause is 51, but some women can suffer menopausal symptoms for up to 10 years beforehand. While some women go well through menopause, other women suffer from a variety of symptoms, including hot flushes, night sweats, joint pain, dry skin/hair, pain with intercourse and low libido. Women can also have sleep disturbance, tiredness, mood swings, irritability and panic attacks, anxiety, low mood, poor concentration/brain fog, vaginal dryness, weight gain, recurrent Urine infections (UTI) and others.
Initially, periods may become lighter and less frequent, or they may become heavier and more frequent. Women have gone through menopause (postmenopausal) when they have not had a period for one year.
Around 80% of women experience menopausal symptoms that interfere with the quality of their lives. About 25% of women describe their symptoms as being severe.
